The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Clemson University (a Carnegie RI Research University) invites applications for several PhD positions starting in Aug. 2022. The department has strong research interests in Astronomy, Laboratory Astrophysics, Space and Atmospheric Physics, Biophysics, Atomic and Molecular Physic, and Condensed matter physics. Specifically we are seeking to attract candidates with research interests in Astronomy, Laboratory Astrophysics and Space Physics, but welcome applications from all fields.
Applicants will hold a bachelor's degree in physics or a related discipline and should submit an application online at https://www.clemson.edu/graduate/admissions by Jan. 1st. Due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the department will not require the GRE subject test nor the general GRE exam. All admitted candidates will receive a competitive salary and benefits in accordance with the policies of Clemson University.
Applicant evaluations will begin in early January 2022 and accepted candidates will be notified in late February
