Open postdoc position at Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) -Spain- to work on the Gravitational wave Optical Transient Observatory GOTO (https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/physics/research/astro/research/goto/). The main focus is Gravitational Waves, but just for free we get observations of the entire visible sky from La Palma in scales of ~3 days. Therefore, this is also a great opportunity for a number of science topics. In particular, GOTO survey in the optical together with Fermi-LAT will provide a very complete data sample to study variable objects. In addition, synergies with the VHE instrumentation at the Canary Islands will be set up: MAGIC, LST, CTA and ASTRI. Therefore, this position could be specially interesting for blazars/AGNs and binary systems studies.
The contract duration is 2+1 years, and we are confident that there are good chances to keep funding this position.
The call can be found at the following link:
The application deadline is October 5, 2021.
