2022 recruitment of the HEIBRiDS International PhD Program in Data Science in Berlin, Germany.
HEIBRiDS invites applications for PhD fellowships in a collaborative research environment across disciplinary borders. HEIBRiDS projects combine Data Science with applications in Molecular Medicine, Materials & Energy, Earth & Environment, Geosciences and Space Research and topics belong to one or more of the following areas:
- Machine Learning & Deep Learning
- Data Management
- High-throughput Data Analytics
- Modelling (incl. Mathematical & Statistical Modelling)
- Imaging
We are looking for applicants with a background in quantitative sciences (computer science, physics, statistics or mathematics) or a related applied field (bio- or geo-informatics, etc.), and offer excellent research and training opportunities in an international and supportive environment. The working language of the program is English.
Research will be conducted at one of the partner Helmholtz Centers in the Berlin region:
- Alfred-Wegener-Institute (AWI)
- Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY)
- German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ)
- Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin (HZB)
- Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC)
or at one of the participating Einstein Center Digital Future (ECDF) partner universities:
- Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin
- Freie Universität Berlin (FU)
- Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU)
- Technische Universität Berlin (TU)

Application
To apply, a master's degree in quantitative sciences (Computer Science, Physics, Statistics or Mathematics) or related applied field (Bio- or Geoinformatics etc.), to be awarded by July 2022, is required.
