for high-energy astroparticle physics at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense
Event Details:
Location
Department of Physics and Chemistry, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense
Denmark
The work should focus on analysis of Fermi-LAT and Cherenkov Telescope data to search for signatures of magnetic fields and gamma-ray cascades in intergalactic space.
Specific Requirements:
• PhD in physics or astrophysics or a related discipline
• Strong background in high-energy astroparticle physics
• Creative and systematic work ethic with the ability to propose new lines of research and high level of independence
• Experience in scientific computing, programming, and statistics
• Excellent command of the English language
• Strong initiative and involvement in an international team environment.
Additionally, outstanding candidates will have experience in data analysis of gamma-ray observatories such as imaging Cherenkov Telescopes and/or the Fermi Large Area Telescope with the gammapy or fermipy software packages, will have experience in cascade simulations with the ELMAG or CRPropa code frameworks, and have demonstrated research in the field of extragalactic astroparticle physics.
